Release the movement in waves by letting them curve and move a bit, but don't go too long or you'll lose the springy effect.

The top is cropped to the same length all over, so the volume becomes a natural thing. The long nape can be flipped up or smoothed down.

Any cut with short, uniform layers can transform wave into terrific curl. A razor cut will make wavy hair or curly hair look frizzy, but hair can be cut with shears without looking too strong or geometric. You can blow dry for a smoother look or scrunch to encourage wave.

I love working with curly or wavy hair. When someone comes in with wavy hair and has never been shown how to scrunch dry their hair, I love showing them just how curly their hair can be.
