I would really appreciate your help with this.
These pics were sent to me by a girl who owns a salon in Belgium, along with her sister. They have created a really neat concept for it. I will include some of the e-mail she sent explaining the concept.
Thanks!!!!!! Francine
(for sending these great pics and info on your salon)
Some explanations about our salon my sister and I both own in Belgium. After a few years running a "traditional" salon we started something completely new in the summer of last year. We have revamped it
completely in a kind of "high tech" style and we specialize on short to very short ladies haircuts only. The success is beyond our expectations. Our target is girls and ladies in the age group of 14 to 35. We show a lot of pictures to our customers and of course give personal advice. In order to retain the original concept , our customers may not leave our salon with their hair longer than 4 inches. We make no exception. This is our advertising and trademark of our salon. In other words, customers with long (er) hairstyles entering our salon are confident they want a short crop. Of course our own hair has to fit the salon's style so we both sport some crewcut style. The same applies to the staff we employ (3 girls) . We have a policy of not employing male hairdressers as we think our customers feel more confident in the type of salon we run. A nice gimmick getting attraction is that we have many big see-thru plastic boxes in our shop window and throughout the salon were we put all the (longer) cut hair in. Another of our trademarks is that we do not use any scissors, all cutting is done with clippers.
Both my sister and I had some special training (barbering) courses to practice clipper techniques.
In Europe shorter styles have been longer around than in the U.S., but especially this year there was a big boom over here .We are doing lot's of crewcuts and occasionally some younger ones(18/25) want a bald look ( GI Jane /Demi Moore influence?) We are sometimes amazed about the big steps some of our customers take.
