This vest is made from several coordinating fabrics.  I used Carol Doak's Book, Easy Reversible Vests for the pattern and piecing ideas.  I wanted to try using the embossing metal that I found at Michael's for embroidery.  It is very soft and worked well.
On the back, I embroidered Kokopelli designs from Marshy's web site to carry out the theme of the vest.

Here is a closeup of the embroidery.  I traced Kokopelli onto paper, laid it over the metal and free-motioned around it with no thread in the needle.  I also used a new stitch on the Designer-1, V-3, which is really a free motion tacking or basting stitch.  It takes one stitch and stops so you can move your fabric (or metal in this case) then takes another stitch.  It worked well for this type of thing.  I also put a tearaway under the metal--not for stabilization but to protect the bed of the machine from scratching as I moved the metal.

I did the label in Customizing System 5 using one of the frames and fonts in the program.
