living. John C. Maxwell Hi FEET 2 BEAT MS
Team Member! Only a few weeks to
go!! Last year, we had 288
team members. Today, we have 260 team members and have raised almost
$7,000 for the cause. Some of our team members, with others, are
putting the finishing touches on the Cambridge Walk to make it a great
event. Whether you are walking in North Carolina, Maryland, California,
or wherever, there are people behind the scenes putting in hundreds of
volunteer hours to make the walks successful. You can help by doing
what you can to collect donations. Our team strategy is simple.
It is a lot easier to raise the money with 200 people than 20 people.
This disease may not get the attention other diseases get in the media, but
the impact on our lives is just as much. Cheryl’s Story My name is Thomas Arnold.
I am 11 years old and have two brothers (Dylan 14 years old, Andrew 4 years
old) and one sister (Kelsey 8 years old). My dad works for Shaw's Heating and
Air and my mom manages the Veterinary Medical Center of Easton. Our family is
the nicest and coolest family on earth. We have some special things
about our family. My youngest brother Andrew
was born with hearing loss, and my mom has MS.
We found out that she had MS in September 2007
after she became paralyzed at dinner one night. It was pretty scary seeing my
mom go to the hospital in an ambulance. Then she had to go back many more
times for lots of tests. Because we are such a great family, we all pray and
help out whenever she needs us. She gets tired real easy, and her muscles
ache a lot. When we go to the grocery store, me and my brothers and sister
help put all the groceries in the car and help put them away. My dad
sometimes gives my mom her needle which is supposed to make her feel a little
better. My sister always says, "I wish MS wasn't real" and I agree
with her. I hope someday scientists are able to find a cure so that people won't get sick like my mom. I am really
glad they have an MS walk to raise money to help find that cure. The MS Walks are the
largest fundraiser for MS Research. WE can make a
difference, Rich |
