THE RARE... THE WONDEROUS...
THE WHITE MOOSE!

If there is one thing that the community of Foleyet is renown for, it is for having the amazing white moose living in it's vicinity! Some people mistake them for being albino moose, but that is not the case. The moose that inhabit the area do have many brown spots in their fur, as well, they lack the red eyes that albino are known for having.
In 1998, one of the few white moose was struck on the railroad tracks just outside of Foleyet. It laid there suffereing for almost a day. So, in the early afternoon, a CN worker put an end to it's suffering. The moose was struck so hard, it would never have recovered. As a tribute of the rare species, the head was mounted and placed in the Northern Lights Restaurant. Many a tourist have come in awe to see the head of the moose. It really is an astounding thing.
