Interior of the fort during the Civil War. Four light artillery pieces are behind the men, at the site of the former Captain's House. 100-pounder Parrott rifles are in background (right) on center-pintle mounts, and 32-pounder Seacoast guns are on left wall on front-pintle mounts. Note that the northeast outer wall is still intact. Ordnance Storehouse, Laundry building, and Officers' Quarters are to the right. The large flagstaff is at right background.
