At The Camp
The weather has been absolutely beautiful down here on the island (just check out the beach photos, Queensland eat your heart out!). Everyone has picked up on the scheme of things and the breakfast, lunch and dinner duty groups are going like clockwork. The children are really putting in and looking after themselves and others (I bet that comes as a shock to some Mums and Dads!!!).
Today’s activities were very local to the camp area. The participants were split into two groups before lunch and then they were switched around after lunch so that each group did each activity.

At The Beach
It is only a 10 minute walk to the beach at Cowes where today’s challenges were held. Sand castles and sculptures were extremely competitive and it was very hard to split the winners. In the end, there were so many catagories that everyone was a winner! Well thought out by the children with many entries containing likenesses of Guy Sabastian, Mrs Pierce and parent helper Anthony.

At The Wildlife Park
The other activity was a visit by bus to the Wildlife Park nearby. Here you are permitted to feed the animals with the pellets provided. There were many different types of fauna including kangaroos, koalas, snakes, wombats, pelicans, whistling kites, dingos, emus, cassowaries, parrots and even some Tasmanian Devils and Flying Foxes (fruit bats).

Evening At The Camp Site
The evening brought about some different mind boggling group challenges such as “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” with the ultimate winner decided by reducing teams to individuals followed by the ultimate playoff between the remaining to contestants.
Later we all went out and did some possum spotting with our torches. We saw two of them plus two galahs and even a mop! (yes, I kid you not).
Everyone is looking forward to the activity rotations over the next two days.

The day was a blast, it went so fast. The beach was fun and we won. We played with crabs and we got some scabs. The Wildlife Park was cool but had no pool. I fed a roo while it did a poo!! The Dingos were fierce even more than Mrs Pierce. Now don’t start me on Mrs Bevan, walk past her and go straight to heaven. Jordan C.

We came back & had pies for lunch then we went to the wildlife park. It was fun! I liked the wallabies & Kangaroos the best! For Dinner fish & chips yummy! I’m hoping to get a bit more sleep tonight? Camp is so great it’s hard to believe I’m here. I’m starting to miss some people from Home. Camp is Great! Alana J.

Today was fun, exciting, sandy, great and competable. Because we wock up and had breekfast but unforcent thing was that I was on breekfast durty. After the tasty breekfast we got some freetime in. My freetime I spock to my friends which wasn’t very exciteing. So after free time we got into to groups and my group went to the butyful beach to build sand sculptures and we was just building ugly Anthony. Our next activity was to go to the wonderful wildlife park to feed the inisent animals. My faviti was the spiky echina and the big kangaroos. Then it was time to go back to camp. When we got to the gorges camp I played table tennies. I got ½ way thourg my game it was tea time for a lovely tea. Thanks for listning Georgia.

Dear Diary, Today was even better than yesterday. First some of us went to the Wildlife Centre, it was awesome. We all saw heaps of animals, we got to feed the Kangaroos. They were so cool. The really big kangaroos had really big teeth but it did not hurt. A while after that we saw some cute and cuddly koalas. (one of the koalas got onto the ground, played for a while and got up into another tree. Later on we went to beach that was really fun we did some sand sculpture. I did Mr. Fatchen with two of my friends. Today was so Awsom! Gabriella B.
