And special thanks goes to…..

– Mrs Bevan (Grade 5 Manager/Teacher) for her excellent management
and coordination of the camp, and devotion to the Grade 5 students so
that they benefited from the experience.

– All of the Teachers (
Mr Pollard, Mrs Collins, Mrs Pearce,
Miss Wall, Mrs Bevan
and Mr Fatcen) for their infallible participation
and guidance of the students (and in some cases, the parent helpers!!!).

– All of the Parent Helpers (
Julie C., Felicity E., Phil J., Paul R.,
Anthony S.
and Glenn W.) for giving up their time and unpaid
contribution in support of the camp and school’s objectives (not to
mention Queer Eye, The Jerry Springer Show, E.R., The Footy Show...).

–
Paul R. for two very nice panoramic images used on Day 2 web page
(produced via 3 stitched images in each case) and also some additional
images used on other pages from his camera which were not obtained
using the GKPS cameras.

–
Glenn W. for creating the web site and keeping it up to date at the
expense of sleep time (regular bedtimes of 3am, student activities were
just to good to miss so something had to give!).

– The
CYC for making us all so welcome and allowing us to enjoy
ourselves immensely!!!

The Rumour Mill

Some significant comments
were made in passing…….

The CYC kitchen staff
expressed that the quality of
Teacher/Parental guidance
and control exercised over the
students was the best they
had seen and they wished that
all schools that visited the
CYC were of the same level.

The Teachers and Parents
found the staff of the CYC
(Kitchen in particular)
extremely helpful, friendly and
approachable, and therefore
made adult duties so much
more manageable.

The Last Event

We finished the week off by returning to the Philip Island
Nature Park in the morning. Here we understood a lot
more about the “Little” penguins and their environment by
being presented with a very informative multimedia slide
show. After enjoying a very nice and extremely well
coordinated packaged
lunch from the CYC, we all
got together to quickly
discuss the week and to
pass on expressions of
gratitude and thanks to all
concerned.  Reluctantly,
everyone got back on the
buses and it was smooth
trip to GlenKatherine Primary School where all of the
Mums and Dads were waiting for us at around 2:45pm.
