I spy with my little eye… CPT Rote getting pounded with pie! By his wife!!! |
On December 4, 2005, Sunday, the HSC 203rd Engineers celebrated Christmas with family & friends. The harmonious sounds of Christmas carols filled the air. A Christmas tree, tinsel, flowers, ribbons & presents were beautifully displayed. The aroma of turkey & roast beef delighted many of the Guardsmen & their families while each child was invited to receive a special Christmas stocking from Santa. Let’s journey through this gallery to view photos of this heart warming, special occasion. |

Santa had to take care of some other things. He's pictured here waving "Goodbye" to everyone. ~~~ Thank you for giving the children their special Christmas stockings! |
Before folks formed the chow line for lunch, Chaplain, 2LT M.S. Morland, prayed a Christmas prayer of blessings as everyone reverenced this moment. |

Captain & Mrs. Rote spent a lot of time greeting everyone as they came through the chow line. What a wonderful way for them to show their appreciation for the soldiers & their families! |
The HSC Christmas Party was all about spending time with family & friends. Those who have supported our nation's military, We Thank YOU! |
After lunch, a drawing was held. Different soldiers & members of their families were recipients of gifts from volunteers & various businesses in the Joplin area. The FRG would like to thank everyone who donated these gifts to the armory. |
With the assembly floor so full of people supporting their military family members, other Guardsmen graciously gave up their seats at the tables so the visitors could be more comfortable. Here you can see some of the soldiers who did just that. ~~~ Another subject contained within this picture is how the children are playing with their new race cars they got from their stockings while their soldier parents are watching over them. |
At different times during the Christmas party, any person could view a mixture of soldiers, civilians & children of all ages gathered around to visit, play, enjoy each other’s company & share in the joys of the Christian holiday we so fondly call Christmas. For some, this will be a time to look back with a warm heart & remember sitting side by side with the husband, wife, son, daughter, Mommy &/or Daddy. For others, it will be a time best remembered as sharing a meal with those who were such a tightly knit family during a deployment. People were laughing, visiting, meeting new friends & sharing a togetherness that can only be experienced by the military family. |
