There are several golf courses in this area, but I am only going to talk about the ones which I played at least once.

We will start in Fort Collins, since this is where we stay. There is South Ridge. This is a very challenging course, with a large ravine running down the middle which comes into play on about 7 of the last 9 holes. Next is Collindale. This is a flat course, but has lots of lakes and irrigation ditches meandering through it. Collindale is the course that the Colorado State University Golf team plays. Lets travel a bit north to Link-N-Green course. This is an oversized executive course. Very nice to play on. Rarely have had trouble getting on this course early in the morning. The fourth one in Fort Collins that I play is City Park Nine. As the name implies, it is a nine hole course. This is where we play in the Matador Apartment tournaments that I mentioned earlier. Here is a slide show of the Fort Collins courses.

Lets move on about 15 miles south to Loveland. This is where I do most of my summer golfing. My son lives here, so this is where Tim and my grandson play with me. We play the Olde Course at Loveland. Marianna Buttes golf course is in the buttes just out of Loveland. It is a very hilly course with lots of lakes and streams. There are two holes where the teebox is about 50 to 60 feet above the green. The Big Thompson river runs through the course. Tim and I, in the past, played here quite often. Here is a slide show of the golf courses in Loveland .The third golf course in Loveland is Cattail. This is a nine hole par three. It is across the street from the Olde Course at Loveland. This course is hilly, and challenging for a par 3. This is where most of the children have their golf lessons.

Lets move on to Boulder. One course that I played several times is Lake Valley. This is listed with a Longmont address, but is actually closer to Boulder. The plant where I worked played their golf league here in the evenings. It is a good course and has lots of play. I used to go to the Flatirons Golf Course early in the morning and be the first one off. This is a rather flat course with lots of water, trees, and streams. This is the course that the University of Colorado golf team plays. Jane and I used to go to a little course called Haystack. This also is listed in Longmont, but is closer to Boulder. We used to have a good time playing here two or three times a week. Haystack is a small 9 hole par 3 course.

Tim and I play most of our games on the Olde Course at Loveland but like to play at least one game out of the area. In 1997 we went to Louisville to Coal Creek Golf Course. In 1998 we went to Lafayette to Indian Peaks Golf Club. These towns are both south of Boulder, and are fun to play and well worth investigating. After our games both in 1997 and 1998, our families met us at Collacci's Blue Parrot restaurant in Louisville. It is an Italian restaurant that specializes in home made spaghetti and sausages. Jane and I try to get there at least once each summer.
