Hi. My name is Richard and my wife's name is Jane.
We are the owners of the Homepage
HOUSE OF GALLOWAY and also FLOWERS IN ARIZONA. I named this Homepage "Our
Summer Getaway" because it gives us a chance to
get away from the summer heat here in Arizona.
We are going to relate our summer in Fort Collins,
Colorado from June 1 through August 15. We leave
Arizona the latter part of May and return home the
latter part of August.
We take our time driving up to Colorado. We are in
no hurry.
We leave Arizona on US60 headed east. We go through
Miami-Globe, Arizona, through the Salt River Canyon.
We have lunch in Show Low, Arizona. (More on Show
Low later on). From Show Low we head east to
Socorro, NM where we stay overnite at the EconoLodge.
On US-60 west of Socorro, N.M., there is a place
where field after field is Sunflowers.
Sunflowers as far as you can see. They don't come
out until July or August.
The next morning we continue heading east to
Vaughn, NM. We used to take Interstates all the way,
but we have now chosen some of the routes off the
Interstates to make the drive more leasurely. We then
head north and catch I-25 into Las Vegas, NM. We
keep on going north to Pueblo, Colo. where we stay
overnight. This keeps us out of the Denver traffic
during rush hour.
The next morning we head
north and are in Loveland, Colo. where we have lunch
at our son's Restaurant. More on this later. We get
to our apartment a little after noon and check in.
We stay at the Matador Apartments, in Fort Collins,
Colorado.
