Dragon Poems

The Dragon
Margaret Hillert

A dragon has a tail this long
And scales upon its back.
His curving claws are sharp and strong.
He snort like a chimney stack
And shoots out fire from his nose.
He R-O-A-Rs a might roar,
And up and down the land he goes.
What is he looking for?

NOT ME!

My Dragon
X. J. Kennedy

I have a purple dragon
With a long brass tail that clangs,
And anyone not nice to me
Soon feels his fiery fangs,
So if you tell me I'm a dope
Or call my muscles jelly,
You just might swell a billion years
Inside his boiling belly.
