JAZZY

This page is for our Jazzy, and for those of you around the world who are pulling for her. You'll never know how much your prayers and good wishes have helped us through a terrible ordeal.
Thanks, from the bottom of my heart.

The Day After
Still pretty groggy........

THE Crested with the Hot Pink Socks!!!
Maybe she'd like to go visit Dennis for awhile!

Ready for a dressing change!

ooooooooooohhhhhhhh. Poor, poor toes!

Will the swelling ever go down??

Lots of good goop!!

Back in the Pink again!

Settled For another Night!

After 12 days, Jazz now can potty outside again - with a little help for balance! Between the wind, Jazzy's excitement at being in the grass, and Bill being nervous with a new (to him) camera, its a bit fuzzy. Will do better next time!

I have to believe that things are looking up, but it is hard to do. Yes, those whitish objects are Jazzy's toe bones. She has lost the nail on the second toe, and that toe was in doubt for awhile. Now, with an obvious blood supply to the toe, maybe it will make it yet!!

This is the left leg, now almost completely healed.

It has now been 26 days and bandages are still changed on a daily basis. No sign of infection and things are starting to look much better. It looks like the hock will not be healing "straight" but it is too soon to be sure and certainly too soon to determine what problems will arise if it is true. They say time heals all wounds. I hope it heals them straight!

...

Below are the most recent pictures of Jazzy's toes and it IS obvious that they are healing. Still causing a great deal of pain at times, she is back on pain killers.

.....

The above photos were taken on Day 42

.....

These were taken on Day 49

If you look closely at the second toe from the top you can see one of the pieces of bone (possibly toenail??) that is creating most of Jazzy's pain. Hopefully this can be removed at her next vet visit.

.....

Jazzy now spends her time with Peaches as a permanent house dog and is thrilled with being out of that damn cage!! And, since she is back in her favorite "FrogDog" position I think it is a good guess that the pelvis healed OK!

A Poem by Jan Shearon

Here lies Bill's mower -
It's done gone o'er.
No more to mow -
The grass will grow.
It did its best but now its busted
It sits still and quiet and getting rusted.
So take the dang thing off to the dump
And kick that idiot yardman in the rump!

Rest in pieces.

A Poem by Pat Pentland

The lawn mower broke
Its working no more
It went up in smoke
It gave its last roar.
A replacement was gotten
A lawn man was hired.
But things they went rotten
The man did get fired.
He closed not the lock
The gate it swung open
The dogs soon took stock
And off they went lopin'.
An adventure they had
Which scared poor Lynne silly
For they were quite bad
running around willy nilly.
At last all were caught
except Jazzy, still gone.
Lynne's nerves they were fraught
with tension, not calm.
Poor Jazzy ran under
a car, and got busted.
Her spotted young body
the road it sure dusted.
But alls well that ends well
for Jazzy is tough -
her legs they are covered
in hot pink vet stuff.
She'll soon be a running
and looking to sass
the negligent yardman
and bite his sad ass!
