In the fall of 1998 Rocky accompanied his owner, his Uncle Ricky and Ricky's owner Deb on a 3000 mile round trip to Rapid City, SD. And what fun we all had!!! Dog shows were only secondary, but those too were fun and we had a chance to meet friends from the Crested-L email list - both new and old. Greatly enjoyed was our time spent with Lilian, Judi and Rosy both at the shows and at dinner. Too bad we live so far apart.......
Ricky and Rocky won the Breed all three days and the points were spread around between Judi and Lilian. And Rosy!! Now we know why she is called "The MinPin Queen"!

Rocky and Ricky both enjoyed an early morning sunrise in the Badlands with their owners. Our other friends couldn't get out of bed at that hour........
When we visited Crazy Horse Monument the dogs were fortunate enough to be invited along for the bus ride to the base of the mountain. We were far more impressed than they were!
The dogs were also allowed at the Mt. Rushmore Monument. Again, we were more impressed than they were..........
When we visited Deadwood, again in the very early morning, we had Mt. Moriah Cemetary all to ourselves. The dogs enjoyed the long quiet walk and then slept well in the van while we gambled the morning away.
On the way home from Deadwood we found a beautiful park with easy hiking trails so the boys got just a little bit more exercise after their nap. A great vacation...........wonder where we will go next year?
