Obituary of Andrew L. Anderson (Typed from a handwritten copy Dorothy Carlson Girvan took from the newspaper) Andrew L. Anderson who was 73 years old passed away at the Hendricks Hospital at Hendricks, Minn. on Feb. 20, 1949. For the past two years Mr. Anderson has been in poor health. He was in the Hendricks Hospital several times. He was born at Lidkoping, Ostergotland, (my note: This is an error. It should be Västergotland.) Sweden, October 6, 1875. His parents were Bertha and Olaf Anderson. He was the oldest of five children. His father passed away when he was twelve years old. He was a great help to his mother being the oldest child. His mother and a brother Charles, preceded him also in death. When seven years old he came to America with his parents. They lived in Odebolt, Iowa, for a short period, later moving to a farm southwest of Odebolt. He received his education in the rural schools nearby and also attended church and Sunday school at the Arthur Baptist Church in that vicinity. He has lived over forty years in South Dakota, most
of the time at Gary, S.D. Survivors are one brother, |
