The Landing Place

by Clint Kelly

Imagine that due to a heatwave around Mount Ararat in Turkey, a massive melting has occurred on that great mountain. Now imagine that one of the greatest enigmas of all time is about to sail out of the past. Noah's Ark is now obtainable due to these mysterious conditions!

"The Landing Place" is the first book in a series of Reg Danson adventures. Reg is employed by The Enigma Society, which is a group headed by a wealthy corporate man. He is sent out on missions to explore mysteries of the world. In the beginning of the book, before the actual search for Noah's Ark begins, we learn about his mission to find the Loch Ness monster which proved fatal because of the unfortunate loss of his wife during it. This also resulted in tension between Reg and his son Tony. Reg's relationship with his son turns out to be a continuous thread through the novel that adds to the suspense of the story. Along with the expedition team, that consists of military personnel, Muslims, and Christians, this story has a lot of interaction and keeps the reader involved as the plot thickens.

All through the book the suspense mounts, mixed with danger, faith, and even romance. This book is well written and it does not disappoint. Even though the basis of the plot may seem like it is outlandish, Clint Kelly handles it in a very realistic way. Reg Danson is not a superhero, nor is he a man who, although suffers comes out unscathed. He suffers and is humbled before the God he serves.

Clint Kelly does an excellent job at capturing the feel and even lingual atmosphere of a foreign country. The peculiar customs, the differing religious views and practices are dealt with very good in this book. Actually, the above is a very strong point in all of the Reg Danson adventures. There are a total of three such adventures in the Reg Danson series; "The Landing Place", "The Lost Kingdom", and "The Aryan". These all are good books, and I would recommend reading "The Landing Place" first to get a good hold onto Reg's life and faith.

As it usually seems to be, books like this do not have a long shelf-life in Christian bookstores. If you can locate one, it is well worth the purchase. But if you are not able to locate any of the books in this series, Christian Book Distributors (CBD) carries all three of the Reg Danson series below list prices. If you get their catalogs, look in the latest ones and order these books! Enjoy!
