Have you ever wondered if there was anyone else out there who has played
DragonRaid? Maybe wondered if there is another Adventure Master (nicknamed
Referee's by some of us) who has encountered similar or possibly even MORE
Bizarre situations than you have?! Well, here is your chance to find out.

The LightRaider NET editors have discovered and pestered Glen Stewart to
host a DragonRaid mailing list (email of course!). But in our pestering we
promised there would be at least 30 people sign up for it.

Here's how you can become a subscriber to the dragonraid mailing list!

Send an email message with "SUBSCRIBE dragonraid" to listserv@associate.com.

After you sign up you will get email from dragonraid@associate.com. Any
message you send to dragonraid@associate.com will automatically be sent to
everyone on the list.

DragonRaid Web:
We have heard a rumor about playing DragonRaid over the Web. It's an
introduction to DragonRaid, but for those that haven't found a group to play
with, it can give you a taste of what Dragonraid is all about! The graphics
are pretty cool and it takes a lot less time to role up a character here
than listening to the audio tape that comes with the boxed set!

The storyteller's fire is part of a story written by a friend of ours we
called Turbo! (it had to do with both computer keyboards and speech speed).
Turbo is no longer on this earth. He and a friend have already experienced
their own Life After Death Sequence.
http://www.alaska.net/~cass/code/code000.html  In memory of Turbo's
enthusiasm and evangelistic fire he had for the band Petra, we're sharing
this Petra web site with you.

http://www.wam.umd.edu/~lbdavies/music/petra/petrapage.html is the Petra
Archives. This site gives a good overview of the band's more than 20 years
of history, some glimpses of graphics from their albums, tour and
information about the different band members.

~ the librarian's desk ~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You enter a room with a friendly fire burning at the other end. Comfortable
chairs form a crescent around the fireplace and then you notice the myriads
of books in the walls, stacked on tables and even suspended from the
ceiling!  How could you choose a book to read... A head shrouded with hair
the color of cirrus clouds nods to the desk in the center of the room. One
end of the desk has been cleared of all but a few books. In this sea of
literature, there is a path to the place of those few writings. Those
writings the librarian has set aside.
"Read any book you like." says the seated figure as a wizened arm
directs your gaze to the entire room.
By now, you HAVE to at least know what those titles are set aside on that
desk...
Charlie says he found an excellent site for some of George MacDonald's writings:
Oh -- here's a puzzle an editor found in their email box.
- Turbo! - September 27, 1990 5:04 AM
Birds!  Tyrzil  thought. I hear birds!  But her  mother  wouldn't
have  opened  the  window during the night, it  was  just  barely
spring!  And what was wrong with her bed?  It felt cold and hard,
not warm and soft like a down mattress should.
Tyrzil reluctantly opened her eyes, and tall, stately  forms
greeted her vision.  Trees!  No wonder she heard the birds' happy
song!   But what was she doing out here?  Tyrzil shook  her  head
trying  to  remember,  as if shaking off the  stubborn  mists  of
sleep.  Gradually she remembered.
Several  weeks ago, Six to be exact, she  reminded  herself,
she had finished her Training.  But just yesterday, she  received
a  letter from The Lamb.  It said that she had been chosen to  go
on a secret mission to the Dark Lands to meet a man named Barruk,
who  lived in a town called Orlin.  Once they find him,  he  will
tell them the rest of their mission.
I  wonder who else was summoned?, she wondered.  The  letter
had  also  said  that she was to climb Peaceful  Hill  and  sleep
there.  The others would be there soon to meet her.  Tyrzil  once
again closed her eyes and rested her head on the pillow,  feeling
the sun's warm rays dance across her face.
"Why, hello, there!" came a rumbling voice.
Tyrzil sat up in surprise.  "Don't be afraid," the  stranger
laughed.   It was a deep, rolling laugh that seemed to shake  the
ground beneath them.  "My name is Macqen, but many people know me
as Qen.  And who might you be?"
"My name is Tyrzil," she replied.
"Ah,  one of the Light Bearers I am supposed to  meet.   Now
let  me see, you're one of the youngsters that just came  out  of
Training  a  few  weeks  ago, aren't you."   It  was  more  of  a
statement than a question.
"Yes,  I  am."   Tyrzil drew her legs up to  her  chest  and
studied him a moment.
Macqen  was a very tall man, well over six feet, and  looked
to be very strong.  His burly chest and thick arms and legs  were
enough  to convince even the most doubtful man.  His beard was  a
dark red, that, when the sun filtered through it, seemed to  burn
like  a  ruby.  Macqen suddenly whistled,  scanned  the  clearing
around them, and sat down.
"Who  else  on this Regency has just  graduated?   From  the
Training, I mean."
Macqen  looked  at  her knowingly.   "You're  really  asking
whether  you know this other Bearer or not, aren't you?"   Tyrzil
nodded her head.  Macqen's eyes twinkled in merriment.  "I  think
you  know him," and then, "If I remember right, you graduated  at
the top of your class."
Tyrzil bowed her head modestly and began, "Well, not really.
Another person -"
"Another person by the name of Metzel, I believe?  The  both
of you had the same final score, but neither of you has ever been
on  good terms.  A fact that time will soon change, if I  am  not
mistaken."
to be continued...
