Jardin des Tuilleries

With the temperature soon to hit the 90's, the Jardin des Tuilleries made a perfect rest stop for sheltering from the sun during one of the hottest Julys in recent Paris history. French gardens are generally more formally laid out than English or American gardens. This section of the Jardin des Tuilleries consists of orderly rows of (I think) linden trees, all neatly pruned to square shapes so that the entire mass seems like a huge green box floating above the ground with cool inviting shade beneath.
