1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 12 ounce package milk chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Preheat oven to 350F degrees (325F for glass pan).
Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy; add egg and vanilla extract. Combine flour and baking soda; add to creamed mixture just until combined. DOUGH WILL BE STIFF. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Spread dough into a greased 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Bake 30-35 minutes or until wooden pick inserted comes out slightly moist with crumbs. Cool completely before cutting.
My 4 year old and I made these and they were so good! We warned ours a bit in the microwave and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Mmmm!
