I block of cream cheese (do not use low-fat version)
1/3 cup
Mayonnaise
1 can of crabmeat (do not use frozen crabmeat)
1 small onion,
finely diced
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or to taste)
Freshly-ground black
pepper
Paprika for garnish
In a bowl, combine cream cheese and mayonnaise. Add onion, crabmeat, and
cayenne pepper and black pepper. Stir by hand until all ingredients are
mixed. Put mixture into an oven-proof dish and sprinkle with paprika. Bake
in a pre-heated oven at 350 degrees for 10 minutes of until hot and
bubbling. Serve with crackers or sliced baguette.
Note: Canned shrimp or clams are a perfect substitute for crabmeat. Just be
sure to
chop the shrimp into small bits if necessary.
