work? What are its assumptions? Why does it provide reasonable proof of a
young earth? This article is a good overview of the current status of
radiocarbon data. A few comments: (1) I disagree with the idea that the speed
of light may have decayed as suggested therein, at least on the basis of
available evidence; (2) they do not point out the effect of C-14 dilution among
a much larger amount of C-12 biomass before the Cataclysm, which would give the
illusion of several additional half-lives to material from before or during the
Cataclysm; (3) I have now seen nine estimates of C-14 production/decay
ratios. All nine (four from creationist scientists, five from secular
scientists) indicate that decay has not caught up with production rates by a
significant margin.

Although no living trees are older than about 4,600 years, by stringing together
data sets and correlating dead tree rings with radiocarbon dating, chronology up
to eight thousand years old have been claimed. I regard this as the most
serious scientific challenge still remaining (even more so than radioisotope
data) to the young-earth position, even though it demands no more than ten
thousand years of time.

proliferating; this mentions only a few of them. Most attention is focused on
the Paluxy prints, but they are only the tip of the iceberg. BTW, after
flip-flopping several times I now favor the proposition that the Paluxy does
bear evidence of human (albeit strange) prints; the observations of Kuban at one
location notwithstanding.
