I want to help people understand that children are people too--right from the moment of
conception. My wish is that every baby would have a chance at life. After that, I wish
all babies would be breastfed; held often, often, often; have his/her cries responded to
and needs met; and be loved unconditionally. Many people know that children should
show respect for their parents. I think that is stressed so much that perhaps we
sometimes forget that children should be treated with respect, too.

Welcome To Lake House
"I am a Physician Assistant-Certified and my primary practice consists mainly of Pediatrics,
Family Practice and Emergency Medicine. Of course, being a rural provider, some
knowledge of OB/GYN, Internal Medicine, and Geriatrics, is helpful also. Joshua is a most
excellent son and friend. He is thirteen and has been racing BMX since age three. He
makes it very easy to be a proud father!"

"As an audiologist, my area of special
interest has been in the assessment of central auditory system
lesions and processing problems. "What" or "huh" can indicate
more than a simple hearing loss. Most recently I have been
studying the hearing processing problems found in people
suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Serious stuff can also result in
hearing problems."

Down Syndrome - For New Parents
On April 11, 1997, our son Michael was born. Mikey is a wonderful baby and we love him
with all our hearts. Mikey has Down Syndrome. This web site will attempt to be a resource
for new parents of children with Down Syndrome. We will also try to provide a personal
perspective by explaining how this has affected us and what it is like to be the parent of a
child with Down Syndrome.
