Nellie, in answer to your question. Dreambook has added an advertising banner to generate funds for their guestbook. We have no control over it's content. I will check the various banners and make a decision as to whether we will continue using their services. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Pax et Bonum! Robin

Hi! I just signed your guestbook. Then I clicked on "Read My Guestbook" to see what other Catholic homeschoolers have to say. I printed the pages so I could possibly contact others. On my printout, above "Catholic Homeschool Family Website," and under the "dreambook" logo, there was this address: "www.sacrilege.com" I went to the site, because it sounded a bit incongruous. It is an extremely weird site. I don't know why the address appeared on my printout, but I thought you'd like to know. - Nellie

Hi! What a lovely family you are! We homeschooled our 2 older children, who are now seniors in Catholic universites. We started to homeschool our "bonus baby," who is now 12 years old. We enrolled him in St. Mary's School in Oneonta, New York after the older kids went to college. Needless to say, we're less than thrilled with Catholic education today. (I used to teach in Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of New York and the Diocese of Brooklyn.) We're considering homeschooling again. We do have misgivings because Tom is all alone, and we live in the country now. We would surely appreciate any advice, encouragement, information, etc. on Catholic homeschooling you could give us. You must get tons of requests! - Nellie

Hello from Nenana, Alaska! We are the only Catholic homeschoolers in this area. We are teaching 7th, 5th,1st,and kindergarten. Our little 2 year old does school with the 5 year old. This is our first year using Seton Home study and we love it! It is very well organized and I enjoy the flexability. We would love to hear from other CHS's. Are there any here in Alaska? Thank you for this great opportunity to write in your dream book.

Very happy to have found you! We have four children and plan to begin homeschooling when the conventional school year ends. At that time, the oldest will be eight. I've been having a hard time finding ideas and "management" techniques for schooling what most consider to be a "large" family. Any suggestions would be most welcome, as would support from "unschoolers." Thanks

Thank you for getting this resource together. We've been homeschooling for over 10 years now. Just recently we've been able to be linked with other CHS's. Best wishes for you all. And may God shower his blessings upon your families. Yvonne From Tonopah, Nevada

May Jesus and Mary bless your efforts to maintain this site. We are in our third year of homeschooling and have just finished building our "homeschooling room" so the school books won't always be on the dining room table. Anyone interested in discussing home-additions from a Catholic Homeschooling perspective is free to contact me. Our email server is not functional right now but our homepage will have our email address listed correctly in the near future. The email address I have listed is at work.

We are a new home school family is eastern Texas. Our children are 8th, 6th and 4th grades. They have been in public school since kindergarten. We were so glad to find a Catholic homeschool site. We are using a hodge-podge of texts for our curriculum. If anyone has any words of wisdom for us, please e-mail us!

This Dreambook is a great idea! We have been homeschooling for going on 7 years. This year I am teaching 5th, 4th, 2nd, and 1st grade with a 2 year old begging to do school too. We started with OLRS for the first year and then designed our own curriculum. This is our first week on the internet and I am impressed at the amount of Catholic resources there are. Right when I was starting to feel real isolated, God led me to all these wonderful Catholic families. May Jesus and Mary protect and bless all of you and your families.

Hi everyone! This is our tenth year of homeschooling. I'm glad that I found you here. This is a great way to meet other Catholic Homeschoolers. We too are in a parish that has few catholic Homeschoolers. I would love to be of help to anyone and to recieve ideas for family devotions. We have used Our Lady of the Rosary curriculum for 4 years and love it. The people there are very helpful and caring toward us. If I have a problem I can call them , they always do their best to help. If anyone has addresses for other Catholic homeschool pragrams please let me know. I have Seton, Kolbe, OLRS,and Catholic Heritage in my bookmarks. I'm always looking for more addresses. Thanks for this new sight and May God Bless your work. Sincerely Fredericka Godsey

We are a Catholic family that started home schooling last January. WE LOVE IT. The peace it has brought to our lives is amazing. I feel a little out here on my own sometimes as we live in an area of very few Catholics. However my husband is being transfered to New Mexico from Kentucky soon and that will help. I would like to ask for any suggestions on teaching a child his times tables. This has proven to be by far the most difficult issue. We have tried Math Wraps, videos, flash cards. We are open to any and all suggestions. Thanks for this guest book and our prayers to all Catholic Homeschoolers who read this.

Hello, I have really enjoyed viewing your Catholic Homeschooling Family website - such a wealth of articles! We are a Catholic homeschooling family with a web site also, listed above, and I also maintain the web site for our Tucson Catholic homeschooling group, Holy Family Home Educators, at http://www.oocities.org/Athens/Forum/3879 . It gives an inside look at the workings of a local Catholic homeschooling support group. Thank you for the resources you have provided. Best wishes, Suzanne Forgach

I have six children, and I used to home school 4 of them. I miss it. They now attend a Catholic high school, jr. high, and elementary school. My oldest is studying pre-pharmacy in college. I am always tempted to take the two youngest back out and home school again. There is no substitute.

We are new to the Internet, but I think this page is the kind of thing I've been looking for. We have been homeschooling for 4 years, since our oldest (now 8 and in third grade) began kindergarten. This year has been a challenge, with three in the lower primary grades (a first grader and kindergartner); we also have a 3-year, 2-year, and 4 month old. Our curriculum is self-designed, but based largely on the Core Knowledge series by E.D. Hirsch. We consider ourselves blessed to reside in the diocese of Arlington, VA. Pax.
