Reynoldsburg, Ohio has a church where Catholic homeschoolers were notified to meet, where the dre would sell books approved for teaching, show parents how to fill in log books, what tests will be sent in for grading and will be paid for by parents, which "must be done in order to be a member of this parish". How do yuou like that bowl of manure??? So I went and complained using Canon Law and was thrown out of this Communist meeting of Catholic mind control. Any thoughts on what I can do next to help ho eschoolers? I already fought this church and won the right to have my son confirmed there after being told NO! Ha- I am ready to fight this church until That priest-communist is out of there. What can I do next?? Gina

Hello, Catholic Homeschoolers! We have two children, grades 3 and 8 and we are just finishing up our ninth year of homeschooling. Dad is a deacon and pastoral minister. Mom seems to teach endless CCD classes. Son is writing the Great American Novel. aughter loves Girl Scouts. All the homeschoolers in our area are evangelical protestants. They are nice people, but I would love to hear from some Catholic homeschool Moms, from anywhere in the U.S. or beyond. Anyone interested in an e-pen pal?? We ar using Christian Light Education full program services and many of their materials. They are Mennonites, but very cooperative and flexible. We have the advantage of transcript/diploma services, etc., but may use many of our own Catholic textbooks. Very reasonably priced. Ad majorem Dei gloriam!

Love the website. It is an inspiration to see a wonderful, large Catholic family! We are new converts, considering homeschooling our 6 year old. She has recently finished Kindergarten at an all-girl's Catholic school. The tuition is at least twice as uch as other Catholic schools in the area. As we just had a son, I am re-thinking this expense. It seems outrageous to spend more than twice as much on one child's education than would be required for another. We use Seton's curriculum which we think is excellent, as re their very supportive staff. We will be moving to the Portland, OR/Vancouver, WA area this summer. My husband and I have six children ages 1 to 19 who we've homeschooled for 11 years. We are evangelical Protestants in the process of converting to the Catholic Church and would like to relocate somewhere no farther east than Colorado where there is a st ong, vital, orthodox parish and an active Catholic homeschooling group. We don't want to live in a big city. We currently live in a town of 20,000 which is a nice size. Unfortunately our local parishes are very liberal and there are no other Catholic ho eschoolers here. Hi, I"m an old hand at homeschooling since we've never sent our kids to school until my son went to college. He's a freshman this year. My daughter (age 15) is still at home. What we are new to is Catholic homeschooling. I am a new convert and my kids are just doing RCIA this year. My husband has remained Protestant (and quite involved in his church). We are also new to the internet and are enjoying meeting others out there who have similar interests. My daughter's big passion is horses. She has a 5 year old Morgan mare which she has gotten to just beyond green broke (she's safe enough now for Abby t go trail riding with her). We are doing equine science as our science program this year using an ecletic bunch of materials including John Lyons "The Perfect Horse" magazine. Most of the rest of our materials come from Bob Jones University Press because I am too cheap to go out and buy all new books at this point in our homeschooling career. Besides it was the bigotry of Bob Jones and Abeka history texts that led me to invest gate the Church in the first place. Wouldn't it just slay them to know that instead of pulling someone away from the Church they pointed someone towards it! I know that was not their intent. My support group is mainly Protestant, but we have more Catholics this year than we've ever had (and not just because I switched!). My sponsor is someone that I met in our homeschool group. Knowing her and her family definitely helped me on the way home I'd love to meet some other convert families.
