Here's the happy ending story of Abbey (formerly Stubby): ![]() Dear TLC Animal Shelter: On June 16, 2005 we adopted this beautiful Basset/Beagle mix whose name was "Stubby". She was a very sad little girl, sitting in her cage and refusing to make eye contact. She stole our hearts and we brought her home. The first thing we did was give her a much needed bath and the next thing we did was give her a new name - Abbey. She was riddled with heartworm, hookworms and whipworms, along with an abcessed tooth. After three months of battling heartworm we were finally able to have her spayed. She is now a very healthy and happy dog and sports a shiny and healthy coat. Abbey loves to go for walks around the neighborhood, meeting neighbors, children and other pets along the way. She has adapted well to our home and our neighborhood and we are so happy to have her. She is a happy girl now and realizes this is her forever home where we will continue to love and care for her. Thank you for the wonderful work that you do for these homeless pets. They all deserve to have a home and I know you do your best to provide that for each and every one. God bless you all. Thank you from us and thank you from Abbey! Sincerely, Judy & Russ Peterson & Abbey ![]() Update June 16, 2006 Dear TLC Animal Shelter, One year ago today we brought Abbey (formerly Stubby) home from your shelter.
