Here's the happy ending story of Abby: ![]() On August 7, 1999 we had lost our much loved kitty "Hobbes". He was a stray that we took in and he had his front left leg amputated at some point in his life. We never knew what happened, but, he came to live with us, unfortunately, he didn't stay very long before he passed away in his sleep. On Friday Sept. 3rd, we started looking at the area shelters web pages, to adopt a new kitty. Upon looking at the cats at TLC Shelter we noticed a female cat named "Tier". The caption said "She only has three legs, it doesn't bother her, and she hopes it won't bother you". It was then we knew we wanted to take her into our lives. She was missing the same leg as our Hobbes was. We read her story in Shorty's Newsletter, and couldn't resist her, she looked so beautiful. ![]() We changed her name to "Abby", as she didn't really respond to "Tier", and every time I looked at her, the name "Abby" came to mind. Maybe she was trying to tell me she liked that name ?? Abby now knows her name, she will come when called, (well...... usually), But always looks when you say her name. She loves attention and has the sweetest personality. Her favorite spot is to sit on her kitty shelf and look out the window. When she first came to live with us, she was a little shy, and would hide behind the couch, but now after she has been with us for awhile and realizes she's here to stay, her personality has really come out. She is so sweet. She loves a little catnip from time to time, and really enjoys her kitty treats. You could not ask for a sweeter and more beautiful kitty. Needless to say, she's one spoiled little girl. She is and always will be an indoor kitty. We recently had her spayed, and she is recovering well. ![]() We believe that it was a sign from our Kitty Hobbes who passed away, that it was time to give a good home to another kitty who needed one, and by finding Abby, he was telling us, its OK... She needs a home, and you can give her a great one. ![]() ![]() Thanks again, TLC for letting us adopt the most wonderful kitty. Debra Kozik |
