Here's the happy ending story of Auron & Yuna: Dear Everyone at TLC, Hi everyone! My mother and I had recently adopted a male German Shepherd from the TLC Shelter, and I just wanted to let you all know how he was doing. I can't remember the gentleman's name who adopted him out to us (Kenny, or Denny? I forgot! Sorry!), but I'm sure glad he did! In June of 2002, my father lost a long battle with colon and liver cancer. Thankfully, I already had a dog, a female German Shepherd named Yuna, to help me cope with the loss. She's been a wacky inspiration and uncanny strength for me! But .. she's only 8 months, and is still in the insane puppy hood. That girl destroyed EVERYTHING. You name it, she ate it. My Mom and I loved her to death but were going crazy with her chewing habit! So, we decided to get her a little boyfriend. Turns out, he wasn't so little after all. After weeks of searching for a compatible dog to put up with Yuna, I stumbled across the TLC homepage; and saw a picture of a beautiful stray German Shepherd male. I was smitten. We've always had Shepherds in our house, so why not have two? On heavy convincing of my Mom on my part, we decided to go and visit him, bringing Yuna along. And what luck, they were PERFECT together! Their chemistry was absolutely amazing at the shelter, I was so happy. My Mom wasn't too thrilled about the idea, but when she saw them smack each other with their paws and doggie kiss, she was in love with him too. We adopted him within like, 10 minutes. Our first stop with our new family member? PetSmart, to get him toys and chews! I named him Auron, in honor of a German Shepherd puppy I had that died of Parvo at the age of 8 weeks. That, and if anyone has played the video game Final Fantasy X, they'd know I named him Auron to match the name Yuna. Hehe. Auron's been with us for nearly a month now, and I couldn't be happier. Neither can Yuna! They play all day long together, eat together, and do everything together. They even run side by side! I'm not sure of it's natural puppy love, or they were just meant to be pack mates. In any case, he's brought humor and happiness with him, along with a friendly and loving disposition, and the desire to make his "people" happy. I've enclosed a picture of Auron and Yuna below. Auron has the blue collar, on the right. I altered the picture with the text because it was just too funny. That's what they do all day, mouth each other. I know it looks sort of vicious, but they never hurt each other! Plus, he doesn't hold still long enough for me to get a normal photo! Wow this email turned out to be a short story! I just wanted to let all of you know that I'm extremely happy with the result of my adoption of Auron. He's a wonderful companion and an all around big baby, and I couldn't love him more. He has a great home now with lots of love, food, treats, a big backyard to run around in, and his own girlfriend! To say the least, he's a very happy dog. Thanks so much, and happy new year to you all. With love, Jenny Adams, Yuna, and Auron ![]() |
