Here's the happy ending story of Daisy Mae:

July 14, 2004
For a couple of months I had been searching for a dog that would be a good companion for our beagle/walker mix. He had grown up playing with the neighbor dog and when she had gotten a new playmate, Buddy was left out. Our household of 5 also wanted another dog to love. My dad and I have always been fond of hound breeds and find the wrinkles inrresistably cute. One of my dearest friends had given a husky of hers (Toby) to T.L.C. and I thought that maybe I should try their website. I searched their website for a couple of weeks and saw some cute dogs and puppies, but nothing that gave that spark. One day however, I was looking through the dogs and puppies and saw the most beautiful dog. Her name was Daisy and had gorgeous long floppy ears with tons of gorgeous wrinkles. She was the cutest bloodhound I had ever seen. (We had previously owned one, but it wasn't as good with kids as the breeder had said.) The comments said that she was housebroke and good with kids. I quickly yelled for my dad. When he came over to the computer, he looked and said, "she's the one...." The next day I went to check her out. I looked around and saw a cute bassett hound, but didn't see her.
Then, I looked to my right and saw these cute ears with bloodshot eyes. As soon as I went over to take a closer look she put her paw up on the gate( her famous trademark). Then, the nice staff let me take her for a walk. At first she seemed to be afraid of everything and never wagged her tail. After 15 minutes outside she seemed to warm up to me a little. She finally brought her head up and wagged her tail, while giving me paw of course. The next day my mom called and said that we could go and pick it up. The staff was very friendly and wished us well with Daisy. The hardest part that day was getting her in the car. When my dad came home from coaching baseball we brought Daisy...(Daisy Mae) out in the front yard with a red bandana. His face lit up... Then, we had to see how the dogs got along... at first, Daisy did not like Buddy at all. She would push him out of the way, ignore him, or snap at him. When I took her to the vet, she said since the dogs were the same age they would act like that until they got used to each other. We gave it another week and now they are wonderful together. Every morning when they go outside you can hear them howling and playing together. There was still one problem though, Daisy was afraid of everything. Any loud noises or new people and she would run and hide...which is pretty uncommon for a dog her size. After we started taking her to the ball fields, forest perserves, groomer, and for car rides she started to warm up more and lose some of the extra weight(now 95lbs.). Especially since she now realizes that she will come back from the groomer and vet. Her favorite place to go is PetsMart. She loves to walk around and pick out what treats she likes. Everyone knows her and her "famous" paw. Daisy was such a blessing to our family. She loves to lay with her head in your lap and listen to you talk. We believe that she was previously trained or is a fast learner. Everyday she would start to show us that Buddy wasn't the only one who new tricks. It's adorable to see the two of them sit pretty at the back door. The staff at T.L.C. is wonderful and were very helpful. I would also like to tell the previous owner that she is a wonderful dog and is in very good care and very spoiled. Daisy Mae is a big part of the family and is living happily surrounded by love and family.

Will Send Pictures As Soon As I Can....
