Here's the happy ending story of Gracie (formerly Mamie):

We had to put our old beagle, Lady, to sleep a little over a year ago. My wife just loves beagles. We contacted Beagle Rescue Midwest for a home visit, with the idea of adopting a rescued beagle. My daughter has a five year old American Staffordshire Terrier mix, Lucy, that we all love, because she is such a loving "lap dog". During the home visit, the people from Beagle Rescue seemed to expect that Lucy should submit and not be interested in the new puppy, so they "passed" on our application and suggested obedience training for Lucy.

My daughter found TLC's website and we made a visit to the facility. They were great with Lucy and could see that we would give a wonderful home to a new beagle. TLC didn't have any beagles at the time that were a good match for us, but told us to check back on a weekly basis as they are always getting new dogs.

The next week we saw Mamie (now Gracie) a 4 to 5 month old beagle puppy. She had been found at a fast food restaurant near the Interstate highway near Brasil, IN. We made the trip to TLC with Lucy again. My wife immediately fell in love with her cute little face. After Gracie's checkup with our vet it was discovered that she had three different types of worms and parasites. Another testament to the hard life she had previously been living. The vet even asked for an additional stool sample to use as a learning specimen for their staff as they hadn't seen another dog with the "trifecta" of worms and parasites before.

Since her treatment, Gracie is doing fine and as you can see from the picture below Lucy and her are becoming best of friends, though Lucy does tire somewhat of the puppy exuberance.

Thanks TLC for doing such a great job saving these wonderful animals.
