Here's the happy ending story of Little Al (formerly Chopper): This note is to update you on the dachshund "Chopper" that I adopted on May 9, 2002. He is now named Albert Arthur in memory of my brother Al whom I sent monies to TLC since his untimely death four years ago. I felt that the name would be very fitting since my brother felt that what TLC was doing was very important. "Little Al" is a real joy and some of his unique ways are my brother's. I know this sounds silly, but through this little sixteen pound floppy eared giant I again have a connection with my brother, by helping just one of the many animals that your organization has saved and placed in loving homes. "Little Al" gets along very well with Max Packard who was adopted by Mr. Art Packard a year ago; at times they are inseparable and follow each other around like matching bookends. He does like to investigate, in fact, at times he is downright nosy, but with this comes many laughs. My son Jeff who was always visiting TLC, but warned not to bring anything home, is extremely happy since he wanted a golden retriever (Little Al is golden in color) and I wanted a dachshund, and Little Al has met both of our desires. He is small in stature, but makes up for it with LOVE. Again thank you all for your help in getting us Albert Arthur Simons and for your continued devotion to all the unwanted homeless pets. Sincerely, Mary E. Simons |
