Here's the happy ending story of Niki:
On May 2, 2003, while returning to my home I decided to stop at TLC to see if
there were any puppies or kittens that were up for adoption. My first place I
visited was the room where the dogs are held. When I opened the door and in
the first kennel there was Niki. She was so afraid and shaking. She just
tugged at my heart. I took Niki out to the yard at the shelter. I became very
excited that I wanted my daughters to meet her. I felt that there would be no
problem with the girls liking Niki. I returned to the shelter little bit
later with my daughters and our dog Teddy. Needless to say the girls fell in
love with Niki without any problems. Also, there wasn't any friction between
Niki and Teddy.
We brought Niki home and found out that she was pretty hesitant of men.
Things are improving though as she loves to see my husband and be by him. I
believe her trust in men will come back in time. Niki has turned out to be a
great watch dog and she is wonderful with kids. Our daughters enjoy playing
fetch with her. She has become a very loyal dog to our family and everyone
loves her. I wanted to share this happy ending that Niki is very well loved
and spoiled here in our home.
