Here's the Happy Ending story of Rocky: ![]() My husband and I had been looking at the website for many months. We seen many dogs and puppies that peaked our interest but we wanted to get the puppy or dog that we all felt was "the one." I read that TLC would be getting in a litter of Brindle puppies, and, knowing that my husband and oldest son loved that color, thought we should go and have a look just to see. It was April 12, 2008, we looked at a couple of pups, then my husband saw Rocky...he was sitting there sleeping by his brothers and sisters and he had a white stripe of fur around his neck. My husband held him and immediately said, "This is the one." I wanted to be sure, so we held a few others, but even I fell for this beautiful easy going little guy. Right before we were going to get him I began having a severe allergy attack and got nervous it could be from Rocky...so we decided to wait until tomorrow and see how if it was from the puppy. Thankfully when I went and visited a friends dog I had no problems, so we knew my attack was from the cats and kittens in the cages around the puppies. We went back the next morning and brought home our Rocky. He settled in quickly, capturing everyone's heart immediately. Then after a couple of days he started getting sick. I took him to the vet and he told me it could be parvo and taking him back to TLC would be best for him. So, with a broken heart, I brought our baby back to TLC. Let me just say Denny is one of the nicest most caring people I have ever met. He said he would get him all better and let him come home! Denny treated him for severe coccidia, whip worm, and round worms. Then he caught pneumonia from another sick puppy that was brought in for treatment. We called daily, sometimes multiple times a day, to see how he was. We visited him too, we was so thin and weak from sickness. When he finally came home we were so ecstatic!!! He still had the kennel cough/pneumonia for a couple weeks, but gradually he got stronger and stronger as the days passed. Now he is well and you cant even tell he was so sick at such a young age. Rocky has been spoiled daily, he is like another brother for my boys, and my infant daughter just adores him. He is so gentle with the children and anyone or anything he meets. He truly is a blessing and we are so thankful for everyone at TLC, especially Denny for everything he did for our baby. Rocky is growing into quite a handsome young dog. He likes to play fetch and go for his daily run with me. He stays right at our side when we are out in our big backyard (3 acres) or at the park, and always comes when called. He's such a great dog!!! Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you TLC!!! We will keep you updated with his progress as much as possible.... Thanks again, Janice and Charles Alexander (Eric, Jacob, Alex, and Cheyenne too!) PS: I attached a few pictures and will send more as he grows so everyone at TLC can watch him grow too! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We brought Rocky in for a visit to see Denny. Rocky was so happy to see Denny again, as was Denny to see him, so we wanted to send a couple pictures of their reunion! ![]() ![]() |
