Here's the happy ending story of Sami, formerly HipHop:

Hi,
Last year at the age of 40 I got my first pets ever. Two little tabby sisters, Sushi and Tiki. It was love at first sight and everything was perfect at home. One year later, Tiki died at our vets office from a reaction to her vaccination. I was crushed and cried for weeks and had to decide whether to get Sushi a new playmate. I found myself one day in front of your shelter. Now, I have never been in a shelter before, and was not sure what to expect.
As soon as I walked in I started crying, I couldn't believe people would just 'give up' their pets like that. That's when Dennis walked up. He was kind and informed me of all the different reasons these beautiful animals end up here. I took every single cat out and simply couldn't decide, however, there was one who stuck his paw out and was purring so loudly I took him out again. Dennis told me his name was HipHop, rightly so because he was missing a back foot! HipHop had no trouble getting around and was so happy to be held. I went home and told my husband about HipHop and by the end of the night I knew he was the one. I prayed he would still be there and insisted that Bill get there 15 minutes before you open. There was HipHop, and Bill agreed he was so cool.
HipHop went straight to the vet for his kitty makeover, neutering, 3 paw declaw, grooming and he was loaded with ear mites. Within a few days he looked like a king. From day one he tried to fit in and within a few short weeks he and Sushi got along. Now they're buddies and once again everything is good.
Your entire staff is to be applauded for the job you do there. I have told everyone who would listen to get their pets from you. Thank you for taking such good care of HipHop until I got there. We call him Sami (Samuri) now. He looks like a warrior.
