Caring Kids Nominations for 2004

A Golden Paw is awarded here to kids that have worked or raised money to help shelter animals. If you wish to nominate an individual or group, email us with your nomination.


Cross of Glory School 6th Grade youth group class
A big thank you to the great kids at Cross of Glory School. The 6th grade youth group held a food drive for the Shelter.

Hadley School 6th Grade
A big thank you and a Golden Paw go to the 6th grade students at Hadley Middle School.  A $240 donation was brought to the shelter by the Head of the student council Donna Murphy (who is a teacher there).  The donation was the result of a two week fundraising project, and along with the money many rolls of paper towels were also donated.

Old Quarry School 6th grade
Golden Paws go to Becky Jarvis's 6th grade advisory class from Old Quarry Middle School in Lemont for the bake sale they held.  Each student in her class baked 50 items which raised $133.00 which they donated to TLC!

Daisy Troop 288 in Lemont is awarded a Golden Paw for their efforts on behalf of the animals.

Youth group from Burr Ridge United Church of Christ
Here is a Golden Paw award to the Youth group from Burr Ridge United Church of Christ for picking TLC as one of the two animal shelters they wished to donate their weekly Sunday offering to which came to $100.00.  They also donated supplies for the animals.

The wonderful Girl Scouts of Troop 628 in Lemont donated lots of cleaning supplies and other things for the Shelter. Thanks for caring!

Andy Sims
A big Golden Paw Award goes out to 6 year old Andy Sims.  For his birthday Andy asked for money and items that could be used by the animals at the shelter.  He donated $210.00 plus many pet supplies and food!  How many kids do you know who would do something like that at such a young age?

Reavis High School Environmental Club
 Reavis High School Environmental Club donated $150.00.  They held a bake sale and sold oodles of baked goods, with all baked goods costing just 25 cents.  Can you imagine how many goodies they had to make!
