Hi, my name is Richard William
Erickson, better known as "Popeye" to all my friends and
acquaintances.

A little about the man behind the
name
I was born on December 14, 1942, (hmm, that
makes me 55 years old) and very happy to be around.
I am a reformed
smoker with a long medical history of
heart problems including 2 heart surgeries. I had a valve replacement
and now live with a pacemaker. The smoking was closing the arteries
in my neck due to the tar and nicotine. My message to all is,
please don't smoke... if you do, please QUIT! You only have one life to
live, live it to the fullest!
Presently, I am enrolled in college
spending many long hours taking Computer Science courses to better
myself for this new age of computers.
Jolita, (Goofy
to friends and acquaintances) my partner
in life, is my ex-wife but have very recently reconciled. She has
stood by me through thick and thin, and I by her... and sometimes
time and space can make the difference between love ... or
lost.
Jolita and I met in 1978 in a, believe it
or not, Taxi cab lot. She was the owner of the cab looking for a
night driver. Behold, there I was not only to accept the driver position, but I
also swept the sweet lady right off her feet!

We had many years of ups and downs, but managed
to remain civilized with each other, and the caring never stopped.
One of the
biggest joys in my life is my young granddaughter, Mari Jo Adams. She
controls all my actions... she is a sweetie!
