Death of Dr. I. W. Crist
-The death of Dr. I. W. Crist occurred yesterday afternoon, at half-past 3 o'clock, at his late residence, on East Chestnut Street. The deceased was born in Perry county, Ohio, March 26, 1827. In 1851 he entered the Ohio Wesleyan University, and remained as a student for two years; from then until 1855 he taught school in Ross county, Ohio. In 1855, in September, he came to Bloomington, Ill. Soon after his coming, he went into the office of Dr. Bowman, a very prominent dentist in this city. In 1857 he and Dr. Mayfield entered into partnership, and for about two years he remained as partner, when he opened an office for himself, and so perfected himself in the profession as to claim the highest standard as a first-class dentist for the seventeen years following, when he was afflicted with an attack of paralysis, which entirely disabled him from any work whatever. He suffered for the next three years, when, from another attack, he was so protracted that he could not recover. May 7, 1857, he married a very estimable lady, Miss Sarah E. Lewis, who has always been to him a most faithful and devoted wife, and has borne to him three children - Adah, Mary and Martha. He leaves a host of friends who mourn his loss, and deeply sympathize with the family in the loss of a Christian man, a true husband and a loving father.
