In 1997 Sparky was awarded "Rottweiler Puppy of the Year" by WCRC the official Rottweiler Breed Club for Western Australia and in 2005 finished his show career the way he started with V1 Veteran Dog at the 2005 West Coast Rottweiler Club Championship Show. He was our fifth dog to receive a Grade 0 hip grading under the National Rottweiler Council (Australia)'s scheme.

Sparky was a true gentleman who loved everyone. He would ask nothing more than a pat from everyone he met and a cuddle from those he loved. If all Rotties were like Sparky we would have no trouble with the breed's reputation. We could have sold him many times, in fact we had to hide him when people came to see pups because everyone wanted him.

Sparky had excellent conformation, high working drive, a beautiful disposition and was absolutely brilliant with kids. As if this wasn't enough he had 0:0 Grade 0 hips and elbows that he has passed on. One of his granddaughters also has 0:0 Grade 0 hips and elbows.

Sparkys final critique was received from Rottweiler Specialist Mrs Yvonne Van der Horst on his ninth birthday as follows:

"9 year old large dog of very good proportions, powerful substance, good bone and in very good condition for his age. Calm, alert and a friendly growler. Coat in very good condition, markings correct. Masculine head, muxxle could be broader, dark almond eyes. Dark mouth pigmentation with some mottling. Correct size ears, well set. Good neck. Good top line, good croup. Deep, broad chest, very good fore chest, good feet. Good front and rear angulation, exceptionally well muscled dog. Free and flowing harmonious movement. Correct scissor bite.
