1. Francis1 HALL SR. was born in PA, USA ABT 1775.(740) Francis died in Belmont Co., OH.(741)

He married twice. He married Elizabeth MCBRATNEY in Belmont Co., OH, 11 APR 1804.(742) They were married by Thomas Michell, Justice of the Peace.

Elizabeth died ABT 1812 in Belmont Co., OH.(743) He married Ann WATSON in Belmont Co., OH, 20 MAR 1814.(744)

He resided in Sewellsville, Belmont, OH 1807. Francis built a cabin on section 29. The villiage proper is midway between Robinson's Fork and Skull Fork of the Stillwater.

In the name of the Benevolent Father of all; I Francis Hall Sr. of Kirkwood Township, Belmont Co. Ohio do make and publish this my last will and testament.

Item first, I give and devise to my beloved wife in lieu of her dower, the farm that we now reside on situate in Kirkwood township, Belmont Co. Ohio and consisting of about thirty seven acres of land during her natural lifetime, and all the stock, household goods, furniture, provisions and other goods and chattels which may be therein at the time of my decease, during her natural lifetime as aforesaid, she however selling so much thereof as may be sufficient to pay my just debts, at the death of my said wife, the real estate aforesaid, and such part of the said personal property or the proceeds thereof, as may remain unconsumed and expended.

I give and devise to my son Robert Hall or his heirs the sum of fifty dollars. To my son James Hall or his heirs twenty five dollars. To my daughter Jane Acres I give and devise or her heirs twenty dollars. To my son Alexander Hall I give and devise one dollar or his heirs. To my daughter Sarah Ball I give and devise twenty dollars or her heirs. William Hall or his heirs I give and devise fifty dollars. John Hall, oldest son of my second wife, I give and devise twenty dollars or his heirs. David Hall or his heirs I give and devise fifty dollars. Elizabeth Hall or her heirs I give and devise twenty dollars. Mary Hall deceased her only heir living, Josiah Hall, I give and devise twenty five dollars. Francis Hall or his heirs I give and devise one hundred dollars. Also Nancy Hall or her heirs I give and devise seventy five dollars. And if there is any money left after these heirs is paid off each their apportionment it is my wish to have it equally divided amongst -my last wife's children or their heirs.

I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 26th day of September 1850.

PROBATE

The State of Ohio, Belmont Co. Probate Court 17 June 1856

The last will and testament of Francis Hall Sr. late of Belmont Co. Ohio, deceased, was this day brought into the Probate Court and presented for probate and it appearing to the court by the testimony of John Sheppard and Nathan Jarvis the subscribing witnesses to the said will this day taken in open court reduced to writing and filed that said will was duly attested and executed that the testator at the time of executing the same was of sound mind and memory of full age and not under any restraint, whereupon the court approved said will and ordered that the same be recorded with the proof now taken.

EVIDENCE

The State of Ohio Belmont Co. on this 17th day of June 1856 A D appeared before the Judge of the Probate Court of said county John Sheppard and Nathan Jarvis the subscribing witnesses to a proper writing this day presented to said court for probate purporting to be the last will and testament of Francis Hall Sr. late of said county, deceased, came into court and each being solemnly sworn in open court. The said John Sheppard for himself upon his solemn oath saith that he saw the testator sign the said paper writing as and for his last will and testament, that he subscribed the same as a witness thereunto in the presence of the testator and to his request; that the testator at the time of signing was of sound mind and memory, twenty one years of age and not under any restraint. John Sheppard.

And the said Nathan Jarvis for himself upon his solemn oath saith that he saw the testator sign said will, that he subscribed the same as a witness thereunto in the presence of the testator and at his request; that the said testator at the time of signing said will was of sound mind and memory, twenty one years of age, and not under any restraint.
