Well later that week I went home and when I went in the house. I did not say one word to him, not even hello, and neither did he. As time went on and things remained neutral, at 10 years old I began to hustle (drying cars, cutting grass, etc), but at that time there was no vast amount of drug activity, so true hustling was the only thing to do, for I would not have dealt with drugs if it was available back then. I loved to dry and vacuum peoples cars out, I once had many local celebrities come and had their cars dried; Lucien Blackwell, Don Tolleffson, (he was really cool), Marc Howard (only gave me a quarter), and Vernon Odom. I made most of my money at the car wash and quickly learned to save it, for it was tax-free! I also began to wash dishes at the house along with other chores, but again I survived, and opened up a bank account.

Now my brother and I were exact opposites, he was untighty and I was tighty. We got along pretty good until about my teen years and we got into fights. One which I cannot forget. It was after school in the kitchen and for some reason I pulled out a knife, but of course I did not use it and did not plan to. But the next day I was highly reminded of it after school when my mom came home from work and told me to go upstairs and take off all my clothes and wait for her. That was the worst whipping ever in my life.and as sad as it may sound, even in those days my mom at times would call me and my brother n*gger, or say the word "dammit" to us. So what's happening today is not new but just a lot more cursing and the children are much younger, and then the parents want to know where they got the foul mouth! It starts in the home, but I for one knew it was wrong, as well as the smoking too. I did well in school, all A's and B's!!
