Henriette Alina McGraw
1905 - 1982

Ed's grandmother at the age of 16 ~ c1921

There is some uncertainty whether her name at birth was Henriette Alina or Alvina ....
as well as whether her surname was McGraw or McGrath.
I've chosen the spelling 'McGRAW'
because I've come across New Brunswick Government land records
for her grandfather Barnabe and GR grandfather Pascal,
where that spelling is used.

In either case, she was born May 19th 1905 in St André New Brunswick, near Cap Péelé.


Alina's father was Jean Barnabe McGRAW,
son of Barnabe McGRAW and Henriette RICHARD.

Alina is descended from:
Alexis McGRAW and Anne LIRETTE.
Michel RICHARD, a soldier in the garrison at Port Royal,
and Madeleine BLANCHARD,
daughter of Jean BLANCHARD and Radégonde LAMBERT.


Alina's mother was Marie Joséphine MELANSON,
daughter of Fabien MELANSON and Agathe THÉRIAULT.

Alina is descended from:
Huguenot, Pierre LAVERDURE & Priscilla MELLANSON.
Jean THÉRIAULT and Perrine BREAU.


Alina married Aimé BOUDREAU on Aug 5 1923 in Shédiac New Brunswick,
son of Abel Joseph BOUDREAU & Émilie Marie LANDRY,
thus uniting several Acadian families from generations past.

Throughout her adult life, Alina was affectionately known as "M'mère"
by her 4 living children, her 17 grandchildren and her 27+ great grandchildren!!

In 1973, Alina and Aimé celebrated their 50th Anniversary!!

They were very fortunate to also have Aimé's elderly mother Émilie Marie LANDRY
at their 50th Anniversary celebrations,
as this dear lady lived to be 104 years old, dying in 1989!!

Alina succumbed to cancer on May 19 1982, in Moncton New Brunswick.
