Elizabeth Rechabina Manicom

Elizabeth Rechabina was born Sep 15 1843 in Tintagel Cornwall England,
the eldest daughter of James MANICOM & Elizabeth (Betsy) BRAY
who had married Jul 27 1841 in Tintagel.

Elizabeth's mother Betsy died on May 25 1862 when Elizabeth was almost 19 years old.

Elizabeth is listed as 36, Unmarried, Housekeeper
and living with her father JAMES MANICOM
and youngest brother William Henry b 1859.

Elizabeth took over housekeeping duties as well as
'mothering' youngest siblings, Philippa Ann aged 5 yrs
and William Henry aged 3 yrs, when their mother Betsy died in 1862.

She did this conscientiously until 1883 when a life-changing event occurred.
It seems romance came fairly late in her life ~

married May 19 1883
to Thomas ARNOLD, widower,
son of John ARNOLD & Ann JEWELL
of Kilkhampton Cornwall.

Thomas' 1st wife was named Maria and together they had 4 children:
John, Thomas, Emily and Arnold.

It is not known at this point whether Elizabeth & Thomas had any children.
Elizabeth died an early death sometime before 1891
when Thomas was already remarried to Diana PETHICK of Redruth
and both were living in Tintagel.

Elizabeth Rechabina is Ed's 2nd GR Grand Aunt !!
