James McKechnie & Arabella Jamieson

~ November 17 1904 ~

On Thanksgiving morning,
the home of Mr Henry Jamieson, near Red Deer,
was the scene of a pretty wedding,
when his daughter, Arabella, was united in marriage
to Mr James McKechnie, of this place.

About 9 o'clock, the bride,
looking lovely in a dress of white Sicillian lace,
trimmed with applique & fagotting
and carrying a spray of roses & carnations,
came in with her father to the strains of the wedding march,
played by Mrs. Margaret Pirie of Calgary.
Miss Ethel Jamieson, sister of the bride,
dressed in white figured organdy
and also carrying roses and carnations,
was the bridesmaid,
while Mr James Gaetz assisted the groom.

After the ceremony, which was performed by Rev Forster,
about 80 invited guests sat down to a sumptuous wedding breakfast.

Mr and Mrs McKechnie left on the noon train of the same day
amid showers of rice
on a short wedding tour to Edmonton.

They expect to take up their future home in Red Deer.
