Two precious furkids play together at the Rainbow Bridge. Toot was
a rescue...her first owners got too elderly to care for her so they
gave up both Toot and her kennelmate, Gizmo, to Pekehaven in Arkansas.
Chester lived at Harraden's Habitat in North Carolina.
Toot had an inoperable tumor in her chest and Chester had a heart murmur.
Toot managed to become a spoiled little "lay on the A/C vent" lady in
the few years she was with Pekehaven and she had such a happy little smile
of greeting. ![]()
Chester passed over the Rainbow Bridge at about 8 pm June 11, 1999. His human mom was holding him in her arms to make the transition a little smoother and his guardian angels, Woodro and Toot were there waiting patiently for him. When he left, it was like he looked back one time to make sure Mom was okay, and then the three of them went off chasing butterflies together.
Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved, as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
