Gary and I have been married 23 years. He is from Bogue Chitto, Mississippi (mentioned in a John Grisham book) and enjoys riding his motorcycle, working in the yard, and small engine repair.

Gary was born with retinoblastoma, a tumor, in both eyes. When he was two, doctors removed his left eye and replaced it with an artificial one. He attended public school and grew up living a pretty normal life. He says his parents didn't take him to enough circuses, lol. When he was a teen-ager, the tumor in his right eye calcified (sealed itself off). When he was in his 20's, he developed a cataract that was removed. He has also been diagnosed with glaucoma.  Gary drives and does just about anything he wants to do.

The prayer doves above are a symbol for cancer survivers! If you or someone you know is a cancer survivor or is fighting cancer, please take them and add them to your page to show your support!  I got them from XenaNCuffs.  Gary's retinoblastoma (RB) is a form of cancer, and my mother had cervical cancer in the 1970's; thankfully, she had a complete recovery.  Gary lost his grandfather to lung cancer in December 1995.  His mother had carcinoma on her leg, which was also cured.
