JOSEPH WARREN (i. Arthur), born about 1645, in Weymouth, Mass., had a grant of land in 1667, in Medfleld, Mass., and married Experience Wheelock, daughter of Ralph and Rebecca Wheelock, May 21, 1668, There. She was baptized Sept. 3, 1648, in the latter town. (Her father who was born in 1600, in Shropshire and educated at Clare-Hall, Cambridge, Eng., came to Dedham, Mass., in 1637, has been called "the founder of Medfleld" and was a Deputy from that town to the General Court of Massachusetts many years. From him descended the Eleazar Wheelock who was the founder and first president of Dartmouth college.) He was a weaver and in 1673, had a house which, together with his barn, was burned by the Indians in 1676. He was selectman in 1705. His wife died Feb. 27. 1710, in Medfield, and he died there Nov. 18, 1718.
