I am looking to fill in my family tree for my 14 year old son. I figure if I don't start now, it will just be that much harder. I have traced my great, great-grandfather Lewis Myers born in 1809 near Gallipolis in then (I think) Sciota county Ohio. He oved to Iowa in the 1830's. His fathers name may have been Jackson Myers and mother a DeMint (sp?) but do not know for sure. I am sort of at a dead end and need help. Thank you. Ernie

My grandmother is a Meyer. (Alice Richmal Meyers) She was born in Providence R.I. 1879. She died in Mami, Fl. There was a brother by the name of Carlton George Meyers. Carlton was born in Providence 1897. I have not had any luck finding her family.

I am helping a friend of mine whose line this is. She is at a dead end with Samuel C. Myers. He was born 4 April 1809 of Dickin Township, Cumberland, Pennsylvania. He married Susan A., who was born 2 Oct 1811 of the same town. They have a son named Geo ge Thompson Myers born in 1834. Does this ring a bell to anyone. She would be estatic for any hints. Her name is Doris Coster.

I ran across your site by accident because of a family reunion with another side of the family i think this is a great site. My great grandfather was adolph mayers ! some of the family spell our name myers /mayers/ or like me Meyers. My great grandmother as Antoinette Mayers. still trying to link up with parents of Henry Meyers born 1826; supposed to have come to America in 1840, but I believe he may have been born in the states. His father is John Meyers his mother Elizabeth Herstenhess. I have his ten children. Henry lived n Philadelphia area married Kathryn Zearfoss. His first born is my grandfather Samuel Zearfoss Meyers who settled in Seneca County, Ohio.

I am trying to track back my mom's side of the family--her mom was a Myers from Bonaparte, IA. I have been able to get to my great great-grandfather, Lewis Myers, who migrated from Sciota County Ohio in 1839 (I think). His obituary states he was born ne r Gallipolis, Ohio in 1809 in Sciota Coounty but todays maps show Galipolis is in Gallia (sp?) County. His father's name may have been Jackson Myers and his mother a De Mint (again sp?). I don't know anything about the Myers beyond that. Thanks. Ernie br>
