FIRST GENERATION

1. Henry SOWDERS was born in VA. In a letter dated April 5, 1967 from Sandra, Bill and Ted Little, of 1419 Border Ave, Torrance CA, to Bud and Etta, they stated:

J.W. Sowders, Bud's grandfather, had 3 brothers, Isaac, Jacob and Sam. Originally their last name was SOUDER. During the Civil War Isaac and Jacob decided to go to the North. J.W. and Sam told them to go and never come back as they disowned them and J.W. and Sam changed our last name to SOWDERS. Isn't that interesting! Nothing was ever heard from Isaac and Jacob again."

Henry SOWDERS had the following children:

3 ii. Susan SOWDERS.
4 iii. Isaac SOWDERS.
+5 iv. John William (J.W.) SOWDERS.
+6 v. Samuel SOWDERS.
7 vi. Jacob SOWDERS.
