ALBERT SOUDERS

Funeral services for Albert Frederick Souders, 50, Dallesport, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17 at Gardners Chapel in White Salmon. The Rev. Homer Coulson officiated. Burial was in Balch cemetery, Lyle. Bearers were C.O. Ensley, H.R. Anderson, Wallace Newman, Kermit Russell, Donair S. White and W.C. McLeod. Mr. Souders was born Sept. 8, 1913 near Sterling, Colorado and died Friday, Dec. 13 at The Dalles General Hospital. He had been a resident of Dallesport since 1949 and employed by the State Highway Maintenance Sept. for the past ten years. He is survived by his widow Nina Souders of Dallesport; son William Frederick Souders; daughters, Mrs. Don (Eileen) Davis and Mrs. Richard (Edith) Campbell, all of Camas; five grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Emma Souders of North Bonneville; and a sister, Mrs. George Howell of Roseburg.

GEORGE ROLLIN SOUDERS

George Rollin Souders was born in Seward County, Nebraska in 1883 and lived in various places in
Nebraska and Kansas. On June 24th, 1909 he was married to Emma S. Stetson at York, Nebraska. They lived there one year and then moved to Colorado where he homesteaded in 1911. There two children born, Albert F. Souders in 1913 and Annabelle May Souders in 1926. They lived in that area until 1933 at which time he moved his family to Washington near Battleground, living there until 1941 at which time he moved to Lyle where he was engaged in sawmill business until 1948 then retiring on account of health.  For the past eight months he was living at Dallesport, Washington.  Surviving are his wife, Emma; a son, Albert, both living at Dallesport and a daughter, Mrs. George M. Howell, Jr., who lives at Klickitat, Washington; one brother, Frank of Colorado; two sisters, Mrs. Adolf Hielcher of Colorado and Mrs. Rosa B. Heddrick of White Salmon. There are also five grandchildren. Funeral services were held December 26th at 1 p.m.
at Gardner's Funeral home with Rev. George of the Methodist Church officiating. Committal services were in the Lyle Cemetery.

SOUDERS SERVICE HELD TUESDAY

Sarah Emmaline Souders, a former resident of Lyle from 1941 to 1961, died at a nursing home in
Vancouver July 29. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. George (Annabelle) Howell of Roseburg, Ore., six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Services were held Tuesday, August 2 at 10 a.m. at Gardner's Chapel with Rev. Roger Clevenger officiating. Burial was at Lyle.
