Mr. McArthur came to Montreal with his parents, when a mere child. He received his early training and education in this city. Being an artist himself he took a deep interest in everything pertaining to painting. He was one of the oldest men in the paint trade in Montreal, having been in business nearly fourty years. His illness extended over four years The last few years necessitated his withdrawl from active work although he still retained his connection with the firm of which he was head. He is survived by a widow, four brothers and two sisters.
