20. Josiah³ Bearse (Joseph², Augustine¹, Gauche^A) was born in Barnstable, MA 3/10/1690. Josiah died 8/31/1753 in New Fairfield, CT, at 63 years of age.

He married twice. He married Mary unknown. He married Zerviah Newcomb in Edgartown, MA, 11/2/1716. Zerviah was born in Edgartown, MA 1698/9. She was the daughter of Andrew Newcomb and Anna Bayes.

Josiah Bearse and Zerviah Newcomb had the following children:

59 i. Benjamin⁴ Bearse was born before 5/8/1802, the first event for which there is a recorded date. Benjamin died 5/8/1802 in New Fairfield, CT.

60 ii. Annah Bearse was born in Barnstable, MA 7/11/1719.

+ 61 iii. Josiah Bearse was born 3/10/1721.

62 iv. Eunice Bearse was born in Barnstable, MA 1/2/1723. Eunice died 4/6/1727 at 4 years of age.

63 v. Jonathan Bearse was born in Barnstable, MA 11/22/1724. Jonathan died 12/2/1731 at 7 years of age.

64 vi. Lois Bearse was born in Barnstable, MA 7/17/1726.

+ 65 vii. Thomas Bearss was born 3/10/1729.

66 viii. Eunice Bearse was born in Barnstable, MA 2/13/1732.

67 ix. Joseph Bearse was born 1735.

68 x. Martha Bearse was born in CT 6/26/1738.

69 xi. Mary Bearse was born in CT 5/8/1741. She married Gideon Beardsley.
